The Importance of Palliative or Supportive Care - It's not just for end of life

Dr. Robert Miller talks about Palliative Care, also called Supportive Care. Palliative care is given as early as possible in the cancer treatment process and continues through all stages of illness. According to ASCO, researchers have seen that when palliative care is combined with treatment for cancer, patients often have less severe symptoms, a better quality of life, and report that they are more satisfied with treatment.

October 13 is MBC Awareness Day

We are the organization that first lobbied congress in 2009 for this day, but creating awareness of mbc is a 365 day a year job. Get involved!

Roadmap to 10/13/12

First stop: join the Facebook Blitz of Dr. Nancy Snyderman (NBC Medical Editor, Today Show). Post your story to Dr Nancy's FB page and ask her to cover MBC as a segment. 40,000 of us die each year and mbc is the 2nd leading cause of illness related death in young women under age 54.

facesFaces of MBC has launched a new "Circle of Support" Facebook app. This tool helps those living with MBC build a network of support, and helps caregivers and friends offer that support. Check it out HERE
